2019 IRISH CANADIAN SOCIETY PICNIC Malahide Castle’s Visitor Centre Project Room and Walled Garden (www.malahidecastleandgardens.ie)
All are warmly invited to the 2019 Annual ICS Canada Day Picnic celebrating Canada’s 152nd Birthday. Please tell friends who might like to come but are not on the ICS mailing list that they are welcome. The Picnic takes place RAIN-or-SHINE. The Project Room is air-conditioned and has convenient toilet facilities. Before providing Picnic details, A BIG ICS SHOUT OUT to AIR CANADA who have provided a very generous donation in support of the Project Room rental, Walled Garden access and the insurance for this year's event. Blaithin O'Donnell, AIR CANADA number one in Ireland, will also be bringing along goodies for games, races and draw prizes. Format: Attendees bring their own picnic lunch and ICS provides a Happy Birthday Canada cake for dessert. A wide variety of reasonably priced Avoca picnic lunches are available steps away from the Project Room for those not wishing to pack a lunch themselves. Access: There is lots of parking for those driving and it's a pleasant walk to the Castle from Malahide DART station. Admission: Free for paid-up 2019-20 ICS Members and under-18s; €15 for those who aren't paid-up 2019-20 ICS members. Admission includes, along with the paid-up member draws described below, a Free Draw Ticket for a variety of Canadiana and other prizes. There will be a piñata and a colouring table, games and prizes for kids. If you, or your company, are in a position to provide a draw prize ICS will be, as always, most grateful and appreciative. ICS membership Fees: The ICS membership year begins with the Canada Day Picnic and runs until the day before the next Canada Day Picnic. To encourage cheque or Money Order payment by mail (we have not yet found an efficient way to receive all that we need to know if funds were to be transferred electronically) two Membership Fee Refund Draws will be held for those whose fee is RECEIVED by Post by Thursday, June 27 addressed to: ICS, c/o, 119 Shrewsbury Park, Dublin 4. One draw will be for all those who so remit; the other will be a Picnic bonus draw for those remitters who are also at the Picnic. If you are paying your membership fee at the Picnic, please bring the exact amount AND the Membership Details Form to ensure a speedy process.
