The ICS membership year begins on July 1 and a Canada Day Celebration on the Sunday before the Monday on which the July 1 Holiday is celebrated provides the first of ICS's annual opportunities for individual and family fellowship for the Irish Canadian community and to promote awareness of the Irish and Canadian cultures and Irish-Canadian connections.

Participation in ICS events is priced close to breakeven. Ordinarily, there is a discount for paid-up members since their fees have already contributed to the website, mailing and other communication and administration costs involved. Where capacity is limited, events are on a paid-up Members Only basis or early booking preference is given to paid-up Members.
